‘Terry Dean’ is dedicated to my Granddad, Terry, who died in March this year. He is the first grandparent I have lost and I felt the need to document, explore and understand the family's grieving process. I spent time with my Nanny over a couple of months documenting their house. Everything is still where he left it; his watch on the bedside table and his cardigan draped over his armchair. 

He would be out walking nearly everyday, all the family remember special times spent walking with him.  He would always carry a rucksack with a flask of tea and sandwiches from Nanny, and wear his flatcap and handmade walking stick. I interviewed my family to find out which walks were his favourites, and particular places that held precious memories of time spent with him, then walked those trails with my camera.  This took me all over the UK, from Wales to the Lake District and the Chiltern Hills.
